For this project you and your partner will create a short music video. Please try to pick a song that is short—or simply shorten the song in iMovie (2 minutes would be the maximum really). The song should also lend itself nicely to telling some type of story. Props and costumes are a key requirement of this project.

Tips: When storyboarding your project, it would be a good idea to listen to the music so you can plan out the key shot sequences that you would want to include.
Part I-Project Requirements (6 points-1 pt for each):
  1. 2 minutes maximum
  2. Completed storyboard that you stay very close to while shooting…completed project planning sheet as well. The storyboard must show some type of story line that accompanies the song.
  3. Rule of thirds present, no zooming, camera is extremely stable while filming, and the camera doesn’t pan very much
  4. Your music video has a story that goes along with the lyrics
  5. A mixture of camera shots and camera positions: close-ups, medium shots, far shots. Multiple cutaways are utilized. 2-3 shots from the advanced camera techniques DVD.
  6. Workload shared fairly

Take on Me - by aha. Good sample of a story that goes along quite well with the video. This video is a good sample from the storytelling videos of the 80s.
